Vytautas Magnus University has started the implementation of the project “Integrity Study of the Future Law, Ethics, and Smart Technologies”, which is funded by the European Social Fund according to the activity “Improvement of researchers” qualification by implementing world-class R&D projects of Measure No. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712.”

One of the main goals of the project is to create a network of students, researchers and scholars within the field of law and to improve their qualification competences, as well as to promote the international exchange of scientific ideas through the implementation of interdisciplinary ethics and law research of smart information technologies and robotics. On the basis of the exchange, an attempt will be made to create guidelines and models for the legal regulation of future technologies that would stimulate the development thereof while contributing to public welfare without violating the values of society. In order to achieve its goals, the project seeks to carry out the following tasks: to reveal the theoretical provisions and problems of transformations of ethics and law regarding smart information technologies and robotics, as well as to prepare the research methodology for these problems; to substantiate the legal regulation guidelines of smart information technologies and robotic law that would increase the welfare of society while securing its fundamental values; to prepare the legal and ethical study modules and training guidelines for improving the qualification competences within the areas of smart technologies and robotics; as well as to promote the international exchange of ideas, scholars and students through implementation of a specialized network of researchers working in the fields of ethics and law of smart technologies.

 

In order to successfully carry out the tasks of the project, it is planned to implement the following specific activities: (i) preparation of research methodology, analysis of scientific literature and identification of the most problematic aspects of smart technologies, ethics and present legal regulation; (ii) preparation of the legal regulation guidelines for smart technologies; (iii) preparation of exemplary models for ethical and legal studies on smart technologies; (iv) formation of the database and making contacts with scholars who are researching the project field; lastly, (v) preparation of guidelines for qualification improvements of legal professionals.

 

Project budget – 597.391,87 EUR, funded by the European Social Fund. The project is implemented without partners.

Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas pradėjo įgyvendinti projektą „Ateities teisės, etikos ir intelektualių technologijų integralumo studija“, finansuojamą Europos socialinio fondo lėšomis pagal priemonės Nr. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712 veiklą „Mokslininkų kvalifikacijos tobulinimas vykdant aukšto lygio MTEP projektus” Nr. DOTSUT – 09.3.3-LMT-K-712-01-0173.

Projekto tikslas – sukurti mokslininkų, studentų ir tyrėjų tinklą, tobulinti jų kvalifikaciją ir skatinti tarptautinius mainus vykdant intelektualiųjų technologijų etikos ir teisės tyrimus, bei kuriant tvarią technologijų plėtrą ir visuomenės gerovę užtikrinančias teisinio reguliavimo gaires ir modelius. Projektu sprendžiama problema kaip reguliuoti intelektualiųjų informacinių ir robotikos technologijų plėtrą, kad nepažeidžiant fundamentaliųjų visuomenės vertybių būtų didinama visuomenės gerovė? Projektu siekiama atskleisti intelektualiųjų informacinių technologijų ir robotikos etikos ir teisės transformacijų teorines nuostatas ir problematiką bei parengti šios problematikos tyrimų metodologiją; pagrįsti intelektualiųjų informacinių technologijų ir robotikos teisinio reguliavimo gaires, kurios nepažeidžiant fundamentaliųjų visuomenės vertybių didintų visuomenės gerovę; parengti intelektualiųjų informacinių technologijų ir robotikos etikos ir teisės studijų modulius bei kvalifikacijos tobulinimo gaires, bei skatinti tarptautinius mokslinių idėjų, tyrėjų ir studentų mainus sudarant specializuotą intelektualiųjų technologijų etikos ir teisės studentų ir tyrėjų tinklą.

 

Projekte bus (i) atliekama mokslinės literatūros analizė bei konkrečių intelektualiųjų technologijų, etikos ir esamo teisinio reguliavimo aspektų nepakankamumo identifikavimas, parengiama tyrimo metodologija; (ii) parengiamos intelektualiųjų technologijų teisinio reguliavimo gairės; (iii) parengiamos intelektualiųjų technologijų teisės bei etikos studijų pavyzdiniai moduliai; (iv) atliekama projekto srities tyrimus atliekančių mokslininkų paieška ir formuojama duomenų bazė; bei (v) parengiamos teisininkų kvalifikacijos tobulinimo gairės.

 

Projekto biudžetas 597.391,87 EUR, finansuojamas Europos socialinio fondo lėšomis. Projektas įgyvendinamas be partnerių.
